Updated pics....

I like to rock out in my AC/DC shirt just like daddy....

I love to drive the 'car' I got form Auntie Aimee ....

Enjoying some nake-nake play time with Dad.....

Having fun getting ready for bathtime....

Hi mom.....

We never leave the house without Sophie ..... it's our favorite teether toy!

Never thought I'd see the day.....

Nicholas finally discovered his feet a couple of weeks ago. In fact he takes his socks off any chance he gets just to play with them. Certainly makes diaper changes easier now that he rather play with his toes instead of practicing rolling over :)

We all know Nicholas has a big cute budha belly and I thought for sure it would always stand in the way between his toes and his mouth.... but lose the clothes and the diaper and low and behold they reach!! Here's a couple of shots of the new found talent during bathtime :)

More pics...

See Mom.... I can still fit in my infant tub and have fun! PS - thanks for strategically placing my bath toy :)

Hanging out on my new blanket that my great grandma Leszcynski made me... I love looking at the pattern and it matches my room perfectly!

I always have fun hanging with Daddy watching football..... even if the Patriots stink this year!

Were the sweet potatoes actually supposed to go IN my mouth??

YOU eat the cereal.... I don't like it at all!

Look at me sitting up like a big boy playing with my train from Uncle Rob and Auntie Jill....

An example of how bad my parents are.... they hand me a piece of paper to eat and let me sit on the edge of the countertop unassisted..... BAD mommy & daddy!!

So what do you think I'm going to eat today??

I love boucing in my jumperoo now that I finally figured out how to use it!

My Uncle Jimmy went to Hawaii and all I got...

was this silly "I love Hooters" bib! Haha!! Actually Uncle Jimmy and Auntie Karin also got Nicholas a cute hawaiian print bib and Hang Loose onsie... but the Hooters bib is quite funny. Here is a comparison between Nicholas wearing the bib and Uncle Jimmy. Personally I think Nicholas looks better in it ........ and much less disturbing :)

5 months .... and first trip to the ER :(

Why is it always so crazy on the days Nicholas turns another month older?? Once again I was not able to take both the 'month old' pictures I wanted to. This time... Nicholas was the sick one! Good thing we atleast took some pictures in the morning. By the middle of the afternoon he had spiked a 102.5 degree temp which the pediatrician suggested was when we should head to the hospital. Nicholas has now had his first IV, first urinalysis (I had no idea it would be done with a catheter) and his first x-ray. In fact the poor little guy had to be catheterized twice since they couldn't get any urine the first time! Thank goodness Dan was there - he had to hold Nicholas down for all the tests while I cried in the corner. The doctor said he had an elevated white blodd cell count but didn't have an ear infection, UTI or blood infection which is why they did the chest x-ray to make sure they weren't missing anything. They decided to do an anitbiotic thru his IV anyways since it was already in to give him fluids.

We had to return to the emergency room again Sunday for another injection of antibiotics just to be on the safe side. We had expected it to be a quick trip based on what the doctor told us on Saturday, but Nicholas' temp was up to 103.5 so it was a longer process than expected. More test results were back though and he still didn't have an ear infection or UTI and he tested negative for any type of flu virus - THANK GOODNESS. So they decidced to still give him the antibiotics even though they believe it is a virus. We were told to put him on Tylenol every 4 hours and Mortin every 6 hours which was the trick to get rid of his fever finally. Unfortunately he has had a bought of the runs now but the pediatrician said it's probably from the antibiotics. Apparently the dosage and type of anitbiotic given at the hospital was enough to knock out an ear infection in one dose.... so two back to back dosages must have been tough.

So Nicholas has been spoiled even more the past few days with lots of love from Mom and Dad since he has been so miserable. He has come to love to sleep on our chests every night again.... something we haven't had to do in a couple of months. So now that his fever seems to be gone tonight.... it's 'tough love' to try to get him to go back to sleep in his crib at night so mommy and daddy can get some sleep too! I swear I don't know how people do it..... mom and dad work AND have a sick baby equals complete exhaustion!!! And never a chance to catch back up even when we take turns at night! So here is a special shout out to all those families with working moms and dads.... and an even bigger shout out to single parents!! WE ARE ALL AMAZING PEOPLE!! Every morning I wake up wondering how I will make it thru another day of trying to be the best mom, best employee, best wife....... and every night I feel exhausted but fulfilled with the wonderful life I have been given and how great of a day it was.

So enough of the mushy stuff :) Here is Nicholas' 5 month picture....

Happy New Year!!

We spent our first afternoon of 2010 playing in the snow! Nicholas has had a couple of colds since the first snowfall so this is actually the first time he's been out there to play! So we bundled up in our new snowsuit from Great Grandma Leszcynski and grabbed our sled and headed out.

What is this cold fluffy stuff that I need to get bundled up for?

Riding around in the yard.....

Wrestling Daddy in the snow.....

My first snow angel....

Daddy pulls me up the hill.....

And then catches me at the bottom....

Yeah this snow is pretty fun Mom..... especially when you let me keep my binkie the whole time :)
