And because it's only fair....
Since this was originally a blog just about Nicholas, I've added another ticker above my posts to count down to Nicholas' first birthday.... which is right around the corner!!!
<<------------ CHECK IT OUT!!!
Today is my first day I have not had to lay in bed by noon! Hopefully that means this is the start of me finally feeling better! With my new found (and much needed) energy, I've decided to add a ticker to my blog. Check it out.... it's to the left of this post. It will update daily to give you the latest development milestone of our new nugget!!
Please my little nugget.... let momma feel better. You're older brother is sick of watching me lay on the floor while he plays. He's getting bored :)

Take that my little chipmunk!!
As I lay in bed one night looking at the video monitor.... I see Nicholas sit up for the first time in his crib ..... then I see him pull himself up to stand ...... then I watch in complete surprise as he begins to chew on the side rail of his crib like it was a cob of corn!!!! Seriously - he took his two bottom teeth and just started chewing in a straight line. I could even hear it on the monitor. I ran in the room and told him 'no' and laid him back down in the crib. This of course is a waste of time now since he can sit up and stand up!! I scoured the web the next day to find something to cover the railings so he couldn't chew them anymore. I didn't like the idea of using a plastic covering because I didn't want him chewing on that either. So I ordered nice, thick, flannel covers for the railings. But being the cheapo I am I refused to pay for overnight shipping if I could get them in 5 days for free. So I was racking my mommy brain all day at work and came up with a temporary solution :) I pulled out all his receiving blankets and wrapped the railings myself. I am quite proud of my ingenuity and good use of blankets we haven't needed in months.
Here's a picture of my great work! And I am proud to say Nicholas has not taken another chunk out of the crib.... that is until he figures out how to eat the bars :(

Nicholas has an announcement to make.....
With all of Dan's family on facebook I'm assuming someone has already leaked the info but if you haven't heard..... I'M PREGNANT!! We were fortunate enough to have our first round of fertility treatments work once again and we've already seen the baby's heartbeat. Dan was really hoping for twins (I don't know what he was thinking) - but we have confirmed it is just one baby :) I have been feeling much worse this time around with nausea compared to when I was pregnant with Nicholas so I am convinced it's a girl this time!!
I am due November 13th so our kids will be 15 months apart - not quite irish twins :)
Two under two here we come..... I only pray Nicholas sleeps thru the night before the new baby comes!!
Happy Easter!!
Nicholas had a great Easter weekend. We spent Saturday afternoon at Grandma & Pepe's house and then Sunday we had over some of Dan's family for easter dinner. It was such a beautiful weekend and we really enjoyed being outside all of Sunday. Nicholas got lots of great easter gifts including 3 stuffed bunnies, a Winnie the Pooh stuffed animal, cool little squishy sports balls, a new swim suit and blow up pool and he even got 'Larry the Easter Lobster' from Uncle Jimmy & Auntie Karin!!

8 months old....
Here we are - 8 months old! I must admit that this pictures are getting tougher to take ... as you can see he is quite interested in his monthly signs now :) Our 7th month brought another tooth and Nicholas learned how to pull himself up. The transition from 7 to 8 months has been quite busy! When Nicholas came home from daycare on the eve of his 8 month b-day, his daily activity sheet said he spent the day praticing crawling??? Dan and I laughed and said 'Nicholas doesn't know how to crawl'. Then we turned around and low and behold, there was Nicholas army crawling across the family room. You go! Then that night when I heard him stirring I looked in the video monitor and found him sitting in his crib..... when I looked again, he was standing in his crib!! So Nicholas can now 'crawl' and get into a sitting position all by himself. Life will never be the same :) No more leaving him in the middle of the floor to run to the bathroom anymore! I think month 8 will be full of spills, thrills and babyproofing!! I must say though that Nicholas has been in such a great mood since discovering his new talents. He's been getting so frustrated not being able to get to where he wants to go! Not an issue anymore.
As for sleeping thru the night - I'm convinced that's just an old wives tale!
