Nicholas' First Haircut

Nicholas' hair has been getting so long! Not really thick but definitely long. We decided he could use his first trim before his birthday party this weekend. So we headed up to see Auntie Aimee for his first hair cut.

Nicholas thought about sitting in the chair like a big boy .....

But decided that it would be better if Mommy held him. Being able to play with one of the combs definitely helped :)

Daddy thinks Nicholas should wear his hair like this everyday!

Good thing Mommy was holding Nicholas.... how funny that Aimee and I were both standing straight up. That's how much taller she is than me!

It's a good thing Kylie came along! She helped keep Nicholas occupied during his hair cut. Here they are enjoying a spin in one of the chairs together.

What a difference a week makes :)

Our day at the Ecotarium....

We headed off to the the Ecotarium last weekend for something to different to do. It was nice to walk around and look at different things. Most of the exhibits were geared towards older kids but Nicholas was still able to enjoy himself. He loved watching the animals too - too bad it was so hot and the polar bear didn't want to come out!

Nicholas LOVES playing with the light up buttons on all the exhibits....

Mom..... no wonder the fox and the polar bear won't come out.... it's too hot! Let's go find more air conditioning :)

For some reason Nicholas loved sitting on the edge of this exhibit in the corner. He felt the need to talk as loud as he could while playing on here....

4th of July....

We spent 4th of July down at the Cape with Dan's family. It was a great day! Nicholas did so great with so little naps. He really enjoyed playing with all his cousins and playing with all the dogs. He also did awesome at the beach! We expected him to last 20 minutes with the colder water and all the sand - Nicholas ended up loving playing the sand and lasted over an hour!! Here are some pics from the day.

Since it was low tide when we got to the beach, Dan and Nicholas walked out to the buoy with Dan's brother Jack and his kids Ryan and Bethany. Of course, all I could think about were the great white shark warnings.

11 months old .....

I can't believe Nicholas is just one month away from turning a year old! Where has the time gone?? I missed his 10 month update (hey - it was my birthday!). So here's an update from the past two months. For sicknesses, we experienced our first stomach flu (thanks grandma!) and our first ear infection. We enjoyed a trip to Aruba where Nicholas really enjoyed the ocean and the sand for the first time in all our trips. Nicholas learned how to click his tongue, point and do fishy lips. Nicholas also took his first steps! Such a big boy!!

And stop the presses ......... believe it or not ....... Nicholas has started to sleep thru the night! YAY!!!!! He still has his off nights and sometimes wakes up at 5AM for the day but we are finally making progress :)
