Rooms are done!

We originally planned on turning the guest bedroom into the new nursery. After talking about it more, we realized we really needed a guest room for our visitors (and to keep our babysitters comfortable and coming back!) AND we still needed a study to be able to work from home. We decided to combine the guest room and study into the big bedroom and change the current study into the new nursery. After multiple coats of primer and paint.... our blood red study has been transformed into a sunny yellow nursery :) Here are the picks of the new nursery and guest room/study.

Nicholas approves of the new crib ..... probably because it's the same one as his!

Halloween Fest ........

Since I am still hoping to go into labor over halloween weekend, I thought we should find a local event we could enjoy and get dressed up for the weekend before instead. We decided to head out to the Halloween Fest at the Ecotarium! Nicholas had a blast getting to ride on the train and going on the blow up slide. And he of course enjoyed running Dan ragged having to chase him thru the exhibits inside the museum. We stayed until dark so Nicholas could enjoy some of the hundreds of pumpkins that were lit uip outside for the event.

Since Halloween is really Dan's holiday, I let him take full control of picking out Nicholas' costume this year. Anyone who knows the Loach family knows that they each own atleast one super hero costume - although is the Riddler really a super hero??? But in keeping with the theme, Dan got Nicholas a Robin costume. But Robin of course needs his right hand man Batman right?? Dan had planned to borrow the Batman costume from his brother Jack but doesn't it just figure he just threw it out! Dan was going to skip it and just be the Riddler (AGAIN) but I said there could be no Robin without Batman and went out to buy the costume myself. Now I had told our friends Leighann and Scott who also love Halloween about our plan to dress up for the event. They unfortunately didn't end up dressing up ......... and neither did ANY of the other hundreds of parents also there!! Dan sucked it up and put the costume on anyways and was a huge hit! He was getting hugs from other kids and having his picture taken... Nicholas was a bit confused on why his Dad was so popular :) Being a Halloween hater AND 37 weeks pregnant, I thought that the effort I put in to put on an orange t-shirt with a jack-o-lantern on the front was more than enough!

Batman and Robin......

Going down the blow up slide. Apparently the weight limit is 150 pounds.... Dan told the lady he weighed 140 and Nicholas weighed 10.... which one do you think is less believable????

Playing on the jungle gym........

Once the sun went down, both Nicholas and Dan changed into warmer clothes. Here they are checking out some of the pumpkins that were lit up.....

Nicholas of course enjoyed rocking out to some of the music being played ......

Another trip to the zoo....

You can never make too many trips to the zoo in a year. Especially when you have a 2 for 1 coupon, a AAA sicount and Nicholas is free :) This time around the cheetah, tigers and camels were out and about. Unfortunately all the baby goats grew a lot in a couple short months since our last trip and got much more agressive in getting food. Nicholas still enjoyed hanging out in the petting zoo. The deer park was much quieter this time. I guess they are getting ready for mating season and keeping to themselves. Nicholas was still able to get out of the stroller and feed them himself this time!

Spencer Fair

We spent Labor Day at the Spencer Fair this year. We got there nice and early and it was a cooler day so luckily the animals didn't smell too bad. Nicholas had a great time looking at all the different types of chickens, bunnies and cows. He really enjoyed listening to the child entertainer they had on stage and he LOVED playing in the Hummer trucks that the National Guard had set up. Unfortunately Nicholas is too small to really go on any of the rides - but there was no height restriction for the carousel so he took his first (and second) ride on that and had fun. He topped off the day doing a fishing game with Dad. He won! And guess what he picked as a prize .... of course another ball :) He took this one to daycare to share with his friends.
