Happy Valentine's Day

Here are the cookies Nicholas decorated with his friend Abby over Valentine's Day weekend. Mommy and Daddy enjoyed tenderloin and LOTS of good wine with their friends that night :)

Nicholas enjoying a snack after 'school' while watching his favorite movie - Cars. It was playing on the disney channel one night and we taped it but only got 15 minutes of the show. How surprised will he be to find out there are 2 more hours that go along with that show!

Jason hanging out watching Cars too :)

All about Jason.....

Let's face it.... parents never manage to take as many pictures of their second child as they did with the first. I've been trying to make a serious effort to do better lately so here is a post dedicated just to pictures of Jason.

Jason practicing sitting up in his Bumbo...

Jason can't wait to start chasing Nicholas around the kitchen on one of the ride on toys.... neither can Dan or I so we don't have to try to fit out big butts on those little seats :)

Looks like that tummy time is starting to pay off!! Look how well he can hold up his head!

Mommy.... how could you ever want a night away from this face?!

Grandma.... did you see how good this movie is????

Staying busy during this cold winter...

It's been a tough winter with all this snow! Nicholas still begs to go out and shovel every night after work and I've been trying to keep Jason in the house as much as possible with flu season. We have managed to get out to do some fun activities though. Unfortunately trying to juggled two small kids means our pictures are extremely lacking but atleast I can blog about them here to remember them :)
We are going to Beaches Turks & Caicos for our spring vacation this year. For those not familiar with the resort, it is the family version of Sandals. Their main sponsor is Sesame Street so there are characters walking around the property all day. We figured that it would be a love/hate thing for Nicholas... he would either love seeing the cookie monster at breakfast or be absolutely terrified. To test the waters, we decided to go to an Elmo Live show. Nicholas loved it! Although he only lasted thru half the show but luckily Dan got us a great deal on the tickets so we were OK with that. Jason fizzled at about the same time when all the lights became too much stimulation and he was ready for a nap. Here's a picture of Nicholas trying to show me his $15 light up elmo wand. Yes, I am a sucker parent and bought one of the expensive souvenirs but atleast we can bring it on vacation and he can use it at the evening shows there too.

We have been saying for years that we need to start taking advantage of the library museum passes and just never got around to it. We were originally going to join the Boylston library but their passes were definitely lacking. So instead we joined the library int he next town over. That was free but then we spent $12 to become 'friends of the library' so we could take advantage of their museum passes. Our first use was for the Museum of Science in Boston. The kids were free and Dan and I were $5 a person ..... we saved $32 with our pass! What great savings, especially when everything is still a bit more involved than Nicholas is ready for. We did find a couple of exhibit areas he was interested in so it wasn't a complete bust. And Jason really enjoyed walking around in the stroller and looking at all the planes and such hanging from the ceiling. Here is a picture of Nicholas pushing all the buttons while I listened to the explanation of all the birds behind the glass. He is so into buttons and switches right now!!

Seriously!?!?!?!

This is the view out Jason's window. Yes that is snow almost all the way up to the curtain.... poor kid can barely see the light of day from his room!!

Luckily our family trip to Beaches Turks & Caicos is right around the corner! Here are the kids showing they are ready for some fun in the sun with Elmo!!

Nicholas is 18 months old.....

Hard to believe we are already halfway to turning two! Nicholas had a great doctors appointment today! Here are his stats:

weight = 28.09 lbs (78th percentile)

height = 32.75 in (65th percentile)
